The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program enables borrowers pursuing a career in public service to have the remaining balance of their federal student loan forgiven after a specified number of qualifying payments. If a user is seeking to qualify for PSLF with a loan servicer that supports it, this API will return a loanForgiveness object containing a list of the enrolled loans. Since PSLF is designed around a set number of monthly payments, it relies on a certification that the applicant was employed at a 'qualifying institution' when a given payment was made. As such, for each PSLF loan, this API's response provides: the ineligible payments, the eligible payments that are qualified, and the eligible payments that are not qualified and why that is.
