Spinwheel Products Overview
Every Spinwheel integration follows the same underlying pattern, whether you're building a lending experience, a debt management tool, or a personal financial management app. Four steps take a consumer from a phone number to a fully-actioned payment — connect, profile, real-time data, and pay.
1. Connect: Authenticate and Verify the User
Every relationship with a consumer starts with connecting them to the Spinwheel Network. Most partners lead with the simplest path: just a phone number and date of birth along with consumer consent. Spinwheel authenticates and verifies the consumer on your behalf — no lengthy forms to abandon, no manual document review, no friction that costs you conversion.
Though, not every organization is starting from scratch. If you've already run your own KYC program, confirmed phone possession through a call center, or verified a consumer through another bureau-approved method, Spinwheel connects that consumer through the matching path instead — so you're never re-verifying something that's already been done.
Whichever path a consumer takes, the outcome is the same. Once connected, that user is ready for every other capability on the platform.
2. Profile: Pull a Comprehensive Debt Profile
Once a consumer is connected and verified, Spinwheel returns a debt profile: a comprehensive snapshot of every liability associated with that consumer, sourced from a TransUnion or Equifax credit report. That snapshot spans two levels of detail.
- Summary level: Liabilities are organized by category — credit cards, personal loans, auto loans, mortgages, and more — and by whether the debt is secured or unsecured.
- In-depth tradeline detail on each liability: Provides balance, credit limit, payment history, and the other account-level attributes you need to understand not just that a liability exists, but its current standing.
Credit report data is only the beginning. It gives you a reliable financial snapshot of a consumer across every liability they hold — cards, auto loans, student loans, mortgages, and more — in a single call. Spinwheel can enhance that static bureau snapshot even further.
Once pulled, the debt profile becomes more than a report. It's the centralized source of every liability tied to that consumer inside Spinwheel, and the reference point every other capability on the platform builds from.
For each liability listed in that profile, Spinwheel returns a capabilities matrix that tells you exactly which additional services are available to enhance that liability data — such as real-time balances, real-time APRs, credit scores, statement summaries, or payments. You get that answer upfront, per liability, instead of discovering it by trying a request and seeing what comes back. That lets you design a predictable, consistent product experience around each liability.
3. Accessing Real-Time Liability Data
Credit report data is powerful, but it can also be incomplete. No matter how current the report is, it can't fully reflect what's true on an account right now. That gap comes down to two factors.
- The furnisher, lender, or servicer, only reports on its own cycle.
- The report itself is a snapshot of a single moment in time, whenever it happened to be pulled.
Between these two factors, a balance, rate, or payoff amount can change without the report ever catching up.
Alongside Spinwheel Profile, Spinwheel closes that gap with direct integrations across thousands of lenders and servicers, giving you the option to pull real-time liability data as part of a consumer’s debt profile, including current balances, rates, or payoff amounts on an account as of the moment you ask, rather than the last time it was reported to a bureau.
Because this data comes directly from the institution instead of a report, it powers outcomes credit report data alone can't. Personal financial management tools can show a consumer their real balance today, not the one from their last reporting cycle. And direct pay solutions can pay the precise amount owed on a liability — instead of leaving money on the table by underpaying, or creating operational problems on the other end by overpaying.
4. Pay: Orchestrate Payments Across Digital Rails
Knowing what a consumer owes is only half the problem. Paying it down introduces its own challenges: knowing who to pay and making sure the payment actually gets there.
Spinwheel closes that loop. Connections run from the credit report file all the way to the biller, so a liability identified in the debt profile can be paid without having to independently source payee, account, or routing details. Spinwheel determines how to reach each creditor and manages payment delivery through the appropriate method — giving you broad coverage even when a digital payment option isn't available.
From the moment a payment is scheduled all the way through delivery and posting, Spinwheel provides visibility into the payment lifecycle so you and your consumers know where the payment stands.
